The long Grind: Week Two

  • Gym visited: 3/1,000
  • Hours trained 1.5/1,000
  • Salads consumed:  9/1,000

Notable Achivments:  being happy with salad.

Lessons learned:

It’s the salad for lunch that makes things work, definitivly.  Because I kinda fell off the sports wagon, and yet still had my successes. Mainly I’m slowly learning what makes mine tick. For example: Cutting down/out carbs keeps me from getting hungry again one, two hours after I ate – and not being hungry almost all the time (no matter how much I eat) is such a huge relief!

So, the salad thing is a complete success. Yay!

Current Challenges:

Sport. I need to make going to gym into a habbit.

And I need to get more sleep; here just going to sleep when I say I will would help. I mean, intead of noodling/doodling around for another hour or two.

[WoW] QQ! WTB Cross-server chat

Or at least a cross-server friendlist with the ability to whisper.

My friends just started playing WoW this weekend – and unfortionally on a different server than me.  They’ve got lowbies on my home server, I’ve got one on theirs and if we want to play together we just do. No problem, right?

But I want to chat with them while I on my main! Alt-tabbing out of WoW to type in AIM is annoying and often enough deadly, and my current connection would break down under ventrilo.

And while we are at “Wünsch dir was”, I also want a mentor system: The ability to temporary downgrade a character while grouping/mentoring a bunch of lowbies. Seriously, I want to take my main! That’s more fun than having to make yet another alt in order to join friends.

I’m not often complaining about WoW, it’s currently my favourite game, but Blizzard’s dropped the ball here. Mentoring is implementable, see City of Heros; Blizzard already can downgrade gear according to level, see heirlooms; we already can whisper and communicate cross-server, see the dungeon finder; cross-server ignore WORKS – So why we don’t we have neither a cross-server friendlists nor a mentoring system?

Blizzard, get cracking.

Socially engineered spam…

needs to go and die in a fire.

Only sure way to keep it away is to trash all comments with suspicious links or page adresses, which just once again stresses the importance to have a decent url.

In case any of your comments get caught, I’m sorry. Collateral Damage, you know?

It appears using a fine and pretty look for the blog actually increases my posting frequency…

The long Grind: Week One

  • Gym visited: 3/1,000
  • Hours trained 1.5/1,000
  • Salads consumed:  4/1,000

Notable Achivment:  The first kilogram is done!

Oh hai! Itz workin’!

I seem to have alittle bit of a Sith in me, I love my absolutes.  “Absolutly no sugar in my coffe” works out much better than “Oh, lets have one piece please.” And “I’m always have salad for lunch at work” is far superior to “Oh, I’m going to try to have salad as often as possible”.

Seems to be the same mechanism I’ve written about before – And once again I realize that my head’s  a strange, strange place.

But I’m happy with the numbers. They all went up!

Lessons learned:

I need simple rules. The simpler, the better, and their wording must not allow for wiggle room. I’m good to wiggle out of the rule if there’s wiggle room.

Numbers need to go UP not down. This is important!

It’s far easier to just not eat chocolate than just a piece of chocolate. But the easiest way to deal with it is not to buy it at all. I’m far less snappy than expected. Salad actually makes full and can be a whole meal, I just have to eat enough to it. Frozen Berries are better than chips or chocolate. I’m lucky to be able to afford decent food and to live in an area where fresh salad’s cheaper than pizza and MacDonalds. The lack of Latte’s fantastic for my wallet. I expected to miss those little nasty habbits and to suffer nobly for my goal, but I really can’t be arsed to do that. The grind needs to much attention for that. My cats are scared by apples. Too much Sugar makes me hyper, too much fat makes my sleepy. I got better cholesterol and bloodsugar levels than one of my thin-as-a-rail friends.

I feel much better when I brave the scale everyday instead of once per week. Feedback’s important.

Some things are non-negationable.

The morning cinnamon bun stays. That’s why the Latte’s gone permamently. I’m happy.

Conclusions:

I’m euphoric right now. Lets see how long it stays that way.
